At The Dentist

Yesterday was dentist day for the kiddos. I very smartly booked all three kids on the same day and at the time, then realized I would be a the dentist with three kids at the same time ... going from room to room ...  I needent had worried though, it all went very smooth and John surprised us and scooted over from work to help when the kids were split up ! God bless that man :)
Miss. Halley went first and sailed through her exam, cleaning and x-rays ...
Almost finished !
Teeth are cleaned and not a cavity in sight :)
Phew ....
Miss. Maggey got off lucky yesterday. When we got to the dentist they decided it best to wait on doing her exam and cleaning !
Ok, not completely lucky, she's only 8 and has had braces on for the past 10 months !
So they wanted to clean her teeth after the braces are off which happens in only 16 more days :)
This is what she wants as soon as those come off her teeth !
Braces are not fun at any age but  especially not when you're only 8 !

Mr. Cooper was slightly terrified when it was his turn . He kept his eyes closed at the beginning , maybe he was praying that this was just a dream ??? He was  brave though, and even cooperated during x-rays ...Well after Daddy decided to stay in with him while they were taking them.
He didn't get the wonderful " no cavities " news we were expecting ...
Turns out when three of Cooper's molars were coming in, he either had a fever, was on an antibiotic or it could be genetic ~  not from my side of course ;)
So those three teeth came in without all the enamel on them :(
Which has now grown into cavities .....
I felt like a bad Mom when I heard that ... Maybe I should have brushed his teeth 4 times a day instead of 3 ??????
Then the sweet dentist said " there was nothing you could have done about this "
Phew ....
So my poor little man has to go back 3 more times between now and Christmas to get his little baby teeth filled :(
They can only do one tooth per visit because of the freezing and he's so young.
I'm not going to lie to you, I am already praying when his adult teeth come in , the enamel is all there !
Also I am so very thankful my husband has a job with good dental coverage now :)
If not we would not be eating til after Christmas ....
Plus you now know more about my kids teeth than you probaly ever wanted to !!!
Your Very Welcome :)

It's pretty normal for "Mr. Cooper" to be a little scared because he's really young, but the good thing about taking young kids to the dentist often is that they get used to it as early as possible and learn a lot of things on how to take care of their teeth and be more conscious of it as they grow up.

Keeping your children’s teeth healthy is one sign of being good parents. Taking them to their dentist for regular check-up means you are doing your responsibilities real well. So chin up, be proud, and give yourself a pat in the back. ^___^

Reginald is right. Your concern for your children’s dental needs shows how much of a good parent you are to them. I’m sure your kids are old enough to appreciate your gestures as well. They would be thanking you for providing them those visits to the dentist as they grow older, seeing how they have good sets of pearly whites because of you. ^___^
