The Sky

Last night we were happily minding our business playing outside while hubby was haying ..... I mean mowing our lawn, when these storm clouds rolled in .....

We could hear the thunder for a while in the distance and see the lightning .... no I don't have any pics of the lightning because well, I can only point and flash with this camera and I am not skilled enough for lightning pics ... but trust me .... there was lightning .....

By this time I have protected my young and the dog and sent them into the house. Meanwhile I am still outside taking pics of the sky and hubby is well ..... you guessed it .... still haying the lawn ....

We are either brave or uber smart - or neither .... your guess is as good as mine !

and the thunder rolled .....

The clouds through my two front maple trees and the time I deemed - head into the house now :) There was lots of thunder, a kajillion flashes of lighting and the kids especially loved it and "weren't frightened" at all when we lost the power ........

Then there was much rain ( you heard how badly we need the rain right folks?) Here's another picture of my lovely garden from two nights ago ......

After the storm, we came out of "hiding " lol.... to find the sky this beautiful pink- peachy color.

It's A Party

Our Halley turned 11 a few days ago. We celebrated a little early because we had heard the forecast of the coming days of nothing but rain. We love to celebrate everything during the nice weather on my parents screened in porch. So in order to have our screened in porch, pool and bonfire party we had to have it a few days early :) Glad we did cause the heavens opened up and rain it did - for a week :)

Yes, I see what my darling son is doing in this picture .... but it was the only one I have from that night with all three kids in the same pic .....

Special memories made ...

So thankful that we live near family ....

So thankful for how good they are to my kids ....

My hubby is so very flexible ....

Special homemade gifts from her little sister .....

And as it's been since she was little, there is a horse gift of some sort. This time it was one for her American Girl doll to ride.

After a sweaty game of hide and seek freeze tag, the kids thought it would be good to jump in the pool ....

So they headed down the road to my Aunt & Uncle's to get cooled off .....

No one had their bathing suits but guess what??? Kids just don't think that's a problem !Maybe we adults should take a clue sometimes and just jump in :)

My girl in that age right between being a child and embarking on young adulthood :)

She handles it great :)

Then we had a fire ! Which we all got to sweat around because it was HOT outside !

Good times were had anyways, eating s'mores, roasting dogs, and playing with sparklers ..

These 11 years have gone by in a flash .....

When she's all grown up and ready to fly, am I aloud to remind her that she promised to live right beside me forever ???????

At The End ~ A Rainbow

Today the sun is shining ! I know everyone woke up this morning and became instantly alarmed! Do not fear people !!! That big yellow ball of fire in the sky is the SUN :) You see we just got through a solid week of RAIN. Not just rain but basically we were dumped with constant buckets of water. I heard someone say we got upwards of eight inches of rain !!! Don't quote me on that though :)

This is what it looked like out our front window. What you can't see are the kids inside the window going stir crazy being stuck inside for a week and the Mama who was losing her mind !
